Democrats received 50% of all votes, but hold just 42% of seats in the Senate. Even though Democratic candidates represent almost 90k more voters than Republican candidates, they are the minority party in the Senate.
Republicans received only 48.5% of all votes, but hold 56% of seats in the Senate. Despite winning a minority of the votes, Republicans hold 7 more seats in the Senate than the Democratic party.
One seat is held by an Independent.
Gerrymandering is harmful to our democratic process and only stands to benefit the politicians already in power instead of the people. Contact your legislators and tell them Pennsylvania wants fair representation in our legislature.
